Thank you for supporting “Janice Jingle Bells" fundraising efforts for the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) over the last several years. So far, my campaign to assist the NCC in reaching its goal to protect 1 million acres in BC totals over $20,000!

My goal is to raise $10,000 by December 25, 2018. I will personally contribute $5000. If you make your donation on November 27, 2018, there are other matching funds available!

With your help, we can reach 1 million acres with just one more project.

NCC's purchase of Darkwoods in 2008 remains the largest private land acquisition in Canadian conservation history. Darkwoods encompasses 136,000 acres of remote valleys, mountains and lakes that provide essential habitat for 40 confirmed species at risk. As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of this historic project, we have an extraordinary opportunity to significantly increase the impact of this world-class conservation area.

Expanding Darkwoods: The Next Creek Watershed

In the middle of Darkwoods lies the 19,500 acre Next Creek Watershed, a large portion of which is not yet protected; we aim to change that.

Conserving Next Creek will expand the size of Darkwoods by 14% and will protect the ecological integrity of a conservation network that has national and international significance.

On November 14th,  an important announcement was made - the NCC has secured funding in the amount of $14.65 million from the Federal Government and the Government of B.C. for the acquisition of Next Creek. We need your support to raise an additional $5 million to complete this expansion project.

Flying over DarkwoodsAll donations over $20 are tax deductible. You will receive an official tax receipt by email from the Nature Conservancy of Canada within 48 hours of your donation.

Help us conserve ONE MILLION ACRES in British Columbia by Earth Day 2020

In British Columbia, the Nature Conservancy of Canada has been conserving critical habitats, migratory corridors for wide-ranging species, and locations of remarkable biodiversity since 1974. In that time, our conservation achievements have resulted in the permanent protection of 999,081 acres (404,314 hectares) in British Columbia. That's 919 acres (372 hectares) away from 1 million acres, and that's the target we've set to surpass in BC before Earth Day 2020.

With your help, we can reach a significant milestone for conservation in BC. We invite you to declare yourself a “Force for Nature” in British Columbia by leaving a landmark with your donation to help us reach 1 million acres conserved forever.
